La Plafoniera Merovin nasce dall'immagine di un'eclissi a metà dello scorrimento, quando un disco scivola sopra un altro invece di stare perfettamente dentro. Un arco in pietra e un arco in legno si sovrappongono dietro il pannello illuminato, ciascuno si ferma prima dell'altro affinché i bordi rimangono visibili dal basso. Nulla è centrato, ed è proprio questo che impedisce a una plafoniera rotonda su un soffitto piatto di assomigliare a un semplice anello di raccordo.
