The Beadora began with two coastal habits: rope wound tight around anything that needed shape, and beads strung on a line and hung wherever a room needed softening — across a doorway, along a shelf edge, over a window. Here the rope forms the body and the beads become a garland swagged around its lower rim, draping instead of hanging straight. FAQ

How far apart should I space two or three pendants?

Roughly 24–30″ apart center to center, with the outer pendants set in at least 6″ from the ends of the island. Two mediums suit an island up to about 7 ft; three work better beyond that. Keep the hang height identical across the run — uneven drops are the most visible mistake in a cluster install.

Does the jute shed fiber?

A little, for the first week or two — new jute releases some loose surface fiber and then settles on its own. Over a dining table you may notice it briefly; a quick pass with a vacuum brush on low speeds it up. It isn't a sign the weave is coming apart.

Can I hang it on a covered porch?

Yes, if the spot is fully sheltered from rain and out of direct sun. An open patio is not suitable — jute absorbs moisture and degrades quickly, and the beads can warp or split. Also avoid outdoor kitchens where cooking steam collects, and any west-facing spot getting hours of afternoon sun, since UV fades the fiber within a year or two.
