De Sylvarra hanglamp komt voort uit het zien van licht dat door een blad schijnt — dicht bij de nerven, gloeiend aan de randen. Essenhout wordt zo dun gesneden dat het doorschijnend is, en vervolgens bloemblad voor bloemblad gelaagd zodat elke overlap een tint donkerder is dan de naastliggende. De koperen fitting in het centrum blijft opzettelijk klein; het hout is het hele armatuur. Als het brandt, gloeit de kap van binnenuit en werpt bladachtige schaduwen op het plafond eromheen.
Twee maten — de kleine is hoger en smal (enkel, entreeplaats of nachtkastjepaar); de grote is breed en laag (boven een tafel of eiland).

Each Docos lamp is shaped from a single, slow-grown hardwood — oak, walnut, ash, cherry — finished by hand and fitted with warm 2700K bulbs. No two pieces are alike, because no two trees are.
