De Mia Alabaster Wall Sconce begon met een gedeukt tinnen plafond in een oude Franse boerderijkeuken — floraal reliëf rechtstreeks in het metaal bewerkt, verzacht door decennia van poetsen. We wilden datzelfde idee van patroon vastgehouden in het oppervlak in plaats van erbovenop aangebracht, dus de wandplaat draagt haar bloemen als verheven reliëf. De kap beantwoordt eraan: een bel getekend als een bloem in bloei, bloembladrand golvend naar buiten. Samen vormen zij één klein stukje ornament, het soort dat eruit ziet alsof het al aan de muur hing.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.
Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.
Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.
The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.
Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.
No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.
Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.
