Inspiration

The Belmora Pendant Lamp comes from a macramé wall hanging taken down and wrapped around a drum. Lengths of cotton cord are laid side by side, straight up and down, over a plain metal ring frame until the whole cylinder is covered in fine vertical ribs, the way a hanging's fringe falls when it is combed out. Along the bottom edge the cord is finished the way a macramé maker finishes a piece: unpainted wooden beads threaded in clusters, each cluster ending in a short cotton tassel, so a row of beads and tufts swings just below the rim. Lit, the cord glows soft cream between the ribs and the beads throw small round shadows on the tassels beneath them.

Which size should I choose?
40cm for a nursery, small bedroom or one side of a bed; 50cm for a 4-seat dining table or a 12 m² bedroom; 60cm as the main light over a 6-seat table or in a living room.
Where does the light go?
The drum is open at top and bottom, so light falls down onto the table and up to the ceiling, with a soft glow through the cord. Ambient light, not a task light.
How high should it hang?
Over a table set the tassel tips about 75cm/30″ above the top; in a bedroom keep them at least 210cm/83″ off the floor. Shorten the 150cm/59″ cord inside the canopy at install.
Which bulb should I use?
A warm-light bulb is included. Use LED only for replacements, up to 9W, so the cotton cord and tassels stay cool; avoid incandescent and halogen.
