Inspiration

The Bexbury Table Lamp started from old porcelain bells and the fluted flower vases kept on a grandmother’s dresser, some left plain and some with a rose pressed onto the side. We shaped the shade as a tall ceramic bell with soft vertical flutes and a gently scalloped hem, and set it on a round wooden base like a small upturned bowl. One version carries raised porcelain roses on the shade; the other stays plain white. Lit, the ceramic glows a warm cream and the flutes show as soft bands of light.

FAQ

Which style should I choose?

The Rose style, with raised porcelain roses, a walnut base and gold-tone fittings, suits cottagecore and vintage bedrooms. The Plain style, with a white shade, a black base and silver-tone fittings, reads cleaner and fits modern rooms.

Will it fit on my nightstand?

Yes. At Dia 20cm/7.9″ × H 34cm/13.4″ on a 14cm/5.5″ base, it is a small table lamp that fits most nightstands, dressers and shelves.

What kind of light does it give?

Soft, warm ambient light. The ceramic shade glows cream with the flutes showing as light bands, and more light falls down through the open bottom onto the table. It suits bedside and accent lighting rather than reading.

Is the ceramic shade fragile?

It is handmade ceramic, so handle it like any porcelain piece: avoid knocks, especially on the raised roses, and dust it with a soft dry cloth rather than wiping hard.
