Inspiration

The Elowara Pendant Lamp started with a picture-book sky. A drum is wrapped in cotton thread, wound in close vertical rows the way yarn is wound onto a spool, and then clouds are set against it: on the cream shade, pink plush clouds with stitched smiles and little dangling raindrops, as if drawn by a child; on the blue shade, plain white felt clouds drifting across a daytime sky. The twisted cord and small round canopy come from old-fashioned schoolroom pendants. Lit from within, the thread turns the drum into a soft lantern, which is why this cotton thread drum pendant light with clouds was designed with a nursery or kids' room in mind.
