Inspiration

Alabaster has been carved thin and lit from behind since long before electric light — the stone holds a glow the way nothing manufactured quite does, with the veining showing through as faint cloud. Finley keeps the fixture around it deliberately plain: a straight brass arm off a round plate, a cone tipped downward like a small pendant that happens to grow from the wall. Nothing competes with the stone, which is the point. Every shade is cut from a different block, so no two glow identically.

Key Features

Cone-Shaped Alabaster Shade
A cone of Spanish alabaster softens the light into a warm glow, with the stone's veining visible when lit.
Straight Brass Arm
A slim brass arm extends from a round backplate, holding the shade clear of the wall.
Compact, Pendant-Like Profile
At W5.9″ × H7.9″ the downward-angled cone reads like a small pendant in a wall-mounted fixture.

FAQ

What size is it, and where does it fit?
It's W5.9″ × H7.9″ (15 × 20 cm) — compact enough for a bedside, a hallway, a reading corner, or either side of a bathroom mirror in a dry area, on its own or as a flanking pair.
Is a bulb included, and what type?
Yes. It takes 1 × E26 or E27 — the standard medium screw base, E26 in the US and E27 in Europe and Asia — and a warm white 3000K bulb is included and fully replaceable.
Will the alabaster match the photos?
Not exactly. Alabaster is natural stone, cut from a different block for every shade, so veining and tone vary from piece to piece — yours will be similar to the photos rather than identical. It's the reason the stone glows the way it does.
How is it installed, and how do I clean it?
It's hardwired to a wall junction box on a round backplate, and professional installation is recommended. Wipe the shade and arm with a soft, dry cloth and skip harsh cleaners — alabaster is porous, so keep it dry and indoors.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
