Inspiration

The La Fleur Alabaster Flush Mount is a small ceiling light carved from natural alabaster into a rounded flower of soft petal lobes around a central sphere, lit from within so the stone glows. The brass canopy keeps it close to the ceiling. One size, Dia 30cm × W18.5cm (∅11.8″ × W7.3″), with a single G9 bulb. A flush mount for a bedroom, hallway, entryway, closet, nursery, or small living room, giving soft ambient light in an organic-modern, coastal, and Japandi look. Its compact, low profile suits dry-zone spots too; for a larger room, use more than one or add other lighting. Email info@docos.us for trade pricing.

Hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box; certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V); licensed electrician recommended.

FAQ

What's the body made of, and does it really glow?
The body is carved natural alabaster — a real, translucent stone. Lit from within, it glows warm through the stone, and the veining and tone vary piece to piece, so each one is a little different. Off, it reads as a solid stone flower.
What bulb does it use — is it included?
It uses 1 × G9, a line-voltage bi-pin base that's widely available in the US. A G9 LED bulb is included and replaceable, warm white. Because G9 is line-voltage, use a G9 bulb rated for your local voltage.
Can I use it in a bathroom, and how do I clean it?
It's indoor dry locations only. Alabaster is porous and isn't damp-rated, so it's fine for a dry-zone powder room but not over a tub/shower with steam or outdoor. Dust it with a dry soft cloth — never use water. Wipe the brass canopy with a dry cloth.
How is it installed, and what room size does it suit?
It's a flush mount, hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box, sitting close to the ceiling (extends about 7.3″ below). Certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V); licensed electrician recommended. A single G9 inside the 11.8″ alabaster body gives soft ambient light — for a larger space, use more than one or add other lighting.
Alabaster — Natural Stone Lighting

The light lives
in the stone.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
