The Lithora Wall Sconce started from the full moon on a clear night: a pale, round face marked all over with craters, and a soft ring of light around its edge. We cut that round face from yellow travertine and left the stone’s natural pores open, so light shows through them in small bright marks. The light sits behind the disc and spreads out onto the wall in a ring, and a small round knob of solid wood sits at the center.
The disc is natural yellow travertine. Its color, veining and pores differ on every piece, so the pattern of light through the stone is different on every sconce.
