Inspiration

The Merrow Chandelier comes from the idea of a beam rather than a fixture — two lengths of timber stacked and hung on cable, the way structural members sit above a room. Curving the underside of the walnut beam turns the wood itself into the diffuser, so the LED never shows as a line of points, and pairing dark walnut against pale ash keeps the two beams reading as separate pieces of wood rather than one moulded body.

Key Features

Stacked Wood Beams
A black walnut veneer top beam over a solid ash bottom beam on slim steel cables — real wood, not printed laminate.
Curved Wood Diffuser
The walnut beam's curved underside spreads the integrated LED along its full length, so you get glare-free task light with no visible bulbs.
Three Lengths, 47″ to 71″
120, 150 or 180 cm, each with its own wattage and output so the fixture matches the table or island it spans.

Use Case

The Merrow works as a linear chandelier over a dining table, a long pendant over a kitchen island, or task lighting above a home-office desk — match the length to the surface it spans. Pair it with walnut or oak furniture, leather seating and warm metal hardware. Against a white or light ceiling the walnut reads as a dark architectural line; against dark or wood-clad ceilings it blends into the structure. On a dimmer, full output covers cooking and homework while a low setting turns it into dinner light.

FAQ

Can I replace the LED?
No — the fixture uses an integrated LED strip rated for 25,000+ hours, roughly 23 years at three hours a day. There are no bulbs to change, and if the module eventually fails the fixture is replaced or the module serviced by a lighting repair shop. This is standard for linear chandeliers of this type.
How high above the table should it hang?
30–36″ between the bottom of the fixture and the table or island surface. Above 36″ the task light thins out; below 30″ you get glare and head-bumping. On 8 ft ceilings use the shortest practical drop; on 10 ft or higher you can drop a little further.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, with an LED-rated wall dimmer — TRIAC or 0–10V depending on the model, so check the spec sheet. Most current Lutron, Leviton and Caséta LED dimmers work well; older incandescent dimmers may flicker or buzz on an LED load.
Can I install it myself, or do I need an electrician?
It hardwires to a standard US ceiling junction box. The 47″ is light enough for a confident DIYer with hardwire experience. The 59″ and 71″ are longer and heavier — we strongly recommend a licensed electrician, and the mount must be anchored into a ceiling joist or reinforced bracing.

Solid Wood Lighting

Natural warmth,
timeless character.

Each Docos lamp is shaped from a single, slow-grown hardwood — oak, walnut, ash, cherry — finished by hand and fitted with warm 2700K bulbs. No two pieces are alike, because no two trees are.

Why Wood Lighting?

Three reasons it feels different.

01

Light that's softer on the eye

Wood diffuses warm 2700K light across its grain — no glare, no clinical glow. Every bulb feels like late-afternoon sun.

02

No two pieces alike

Tonal variation, knots, and grain patterns are signatures, not flaws. Your lamp will be subtly its own — and only yours.

03

Sustainably sourced

We use FSC-certified North American hardwoods and finish with low-VOC oils. Built to last decades, not seasons.

Hands measuring wood with precision tools

Precision in every line

From measurement to finish, woodworking demands a balance of structure and patience. Every cut is squared, every joint dry-fit, every surface hand-sanded to 220 grit before oiling.

Hands carving wood by hand

Crafted by hand, inspired by nature

Each curve is shaped to honor the grain, not fight it. The result isn't just a lamp — it's a story of patience, passed from craftsman to customer through a single block of wood.

Choose Your Grain

Four hardwoods, four moods.

Most Docos pieces are offered in the four hardwoods below. Pick the species that suits your room — they age beautifully, each in their own way.

White Oak
Warm honey

Open grain, golden tone. The most versatile pick — pairs with every interior style.

Black Walnut
Rich espresso

Deep chocolate hues, ribbon grain. Statement-piece energy in any room.

White Ash
Pale linen

Light, airy, almost Scandinavian. Works in bright minimal interiors.

Black Cherry
Reddish amber

Develops a deeper patina with age — the longer you own it, the better it looks.

Soft warm light from sculptural wood pendant lamps

Naturally Warm Ambience

Light that feels like home.

Wood's organic surface filters and softens illumination — reducing glare, casting a warm, diffused glow. Beyond the look, it adds a tactile, sensory depth you simply can't get from metal or plastic.

The result: every lamp becomes a small architectural moment, not just a fixture.
