Inspiration

The Mia Alabaster Wall Sconce is a single-light hardwired wall sconce combining a scalloped alabaster bell shade with a curved brass arm and a relief-carved brass wall plate. The shade is shaped into a flower-petal silhouette with a ruffled lower edge — the alabaster material diffuses the E26/E27 bulb with a soft, even glow rather than a sharp cutoff. The wall plate has a raised floral relief pattern pressed directly into the brass, giving the backplate visible detail without any applied ornament. At W 5.5″ × H 9.8″ (14 × 25 cm), it is compact enough to use in a hallway or on either side of a bed without crowding the wall. The curved arm holds the shade slightly forward and angled downward, which positions the light output toward the surface below rather than straight out from the wall. A straightforward choice for a French country bedroom, vintage-modern bathroom vanity, or transitional hallway where you want a sconce with both a stone shade and a brass backplate with some surface detail. Uses a standard E26 or E27 bulb; hardwired.

Key Features
Scalloped Alabaster Bell Shade
A flower-petal shaped alabaster shade with a ruffled lower edge. The stone material diffuses the bulb with a soft, even glow — surface texture and translucency vary naturally per piece.
Curved Brass Arm
A curved brass tube arm extends from the wall plate and holds the shade angled slightly downward — directing light toward the surface below rather than straight out from the wall.
Relief-Carved Brass Wall Plate
The round brass wall plate has a raised floral relief pattern formed directly into the metal — visible surface detail without any applied or glued ornament.
Size & Fit

One size: W 14 cm × H 25 cm (W 5.5″ × H 9.8″). The compact footprint works well in tighter wall spaces — a hallway, a narrow bathroom wall, or either side of a headboard where a larger fixture would feel oversized. Install the center of the wall plate at roughly 60–66″ from the floor for typical ambient use, or position as needed alongside a mirror or above a console.

FAQ
Do standard US bulbs fit?
Yes. The socket is E26/E27 medium base — standard US E26 bulbs thread directly in with no adapter. Choose your own wattage and color temperature within the fixture rating. Bulb is not included.
Is the alabaster shade solid stone or resin?
The shade is natural alabaster stone, not resin. Surface texture, translucency, and stone tone will vary slightly between pieces — this is a characteristic of natural stone, not a defect.
Is it hardwired or plug-in?
It is hardwired to a wall junction box and operated via your wall switch. There is no plug-in cord option. Professional installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.
Can I use two as a pair flanking a mirror or bed?
Yes — the 5.5″ width works well in pairs. Each sconce hardwires to its own wall junction box independently. For flanking a bathroom mirror, center each fixture at roughly the same height on either side.
How do I clean the shade and brass?
Dust the alabaster shade with a soft dry cloth only — do not use water, oils, or cleaning sprays on the stone. Wipe the brass arm and wall plate with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the brass finish.
Alabaster — Natural Stone Lighting

The light lives
in the stone.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
