Inspiration

The Solviera Ceramic Vase comes from the way oil paint behaves when it is dragged with a palette knife instead of brushed: two colors meet while both are still wet, each holds its own edge, and neither blends into the other. Poured glaze does the same thing on a curved surface — it runs vertically, stops where it stops, and leaves a hard boundary between one field of color and the next. Gold goes on last, in small torn shapes that sit where the fields meet, the way a highlight is added at the end of a painting.

Good To Know

!
Poured glaze and hand-painting · no two alike The glaze is poured, not sprayed, and the detailing is painted by hand — so where each color field starts and stops, how far it runs down the body, and the size and placement of the gold marks are different on every piece. Dimensions and weights are approximate. This variation is the finish, not a defect.
Key Features

Poured Glaze, Hand-Painted
The glaze is poured down the body so each color runs to its own stopping point, then the detailing is hand-painted — which is why the color boundaries are hard-edged rather than faded.
Gold at the Color Seams
Gold is laid in torn shapes along the joins between color fields. On several styles it also covers the handle, rim or finial outright, so the metallic reads from across a room.
Four Forms, Nine Sizes
A single-handle ewer, a twin-handle amphora, a gourd form and a lidded temple jar — from 25.5 cm to 52.5 cm tall, and 1.15 kg to 4.4 kg.

Use Case

Mouth size decides how each one gets used. The ewers and the large amphora open at 2.5–3.5 cm, which holds a single stem or a tight bud — a hand-painted ceramic bud vase for a bedroom dresser or a bathroom vanity, where it works as an object first and a container second. The small amphora at 5.5 cm and the low gourd at 8 cm take a short bunch. The tall and extra-tall gourds open at 12.7 cm and 15 cm, wide enough for a full arrangement or a spray of dried pampas; at 52.5 cm and 4.4 kg the largest sits on the floor beside a sofa or at the base of a console rather than on a tabletop. The lidded temple jars read as standalone objects with the lid on — one at each end of a fireplace mantel, or a pair on a dining room sideboard. Across an eclectic living room, a Hollywood Regency entryway or a maximalist bookshelf, the gold picks up warm lamplight in the evening and the hard-edged color blocks hold their own against patterned wallpaper.

FAQ

What forms and sizes are available?
Four forms in nine sizes, all ceramic with a poured glaze and hand-painted detailing. The ewer has one handle (H 30.5 cm and H 41 cm); the amphora has two (H 31 cm and H 41.5 cm); the gourd comes in three heights (H 25.5 cm, H 41.5 cm, H 52.5 cm); the temple jar is lidded (H 35 cm and H 47.5 cm, including the lid). Full diameters and weights are in the Product Size table. Each is sold individually.
Which style suits which stems?
Go by mouth diameter. 2.5–3.5 cm (both ewers, large amphora) takes a single stem. 5.5–8 cm (small amphora, low gourd, small temple jar) takes a short bunch. 12.7 cm and 15 cm (tall and extra-tall gourds) take a full arrangement or tall dried branches.
Will my vase match the photos exactly?
The form, palette and overall composition match. Because the glaze is poured and the detailing painted by hand, where each color stops and how the gold marks fall are different on every piece — two vases of the same style will not be identical.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry it off. Keep abrasive cleaners and scouring pads away from the gold — it wears through before the glaze does. Not dishwasher safe.
