Inspiration

The Tessavon Table Lamp started from the small stone cairns hikers leave along riverbanks and trails, a round rock at the bottom, a flat one balanced on top, and sometimes a small pebble to finish the stack. Nobody plans them, but each one ends up steady and a little different from the last. We built the base the same way from pale, pitted travertine, a dome, a flat disc and, on one version, a round stone on top, and set a small fabric shade over it like a hat left on the top stone.

!
Natural travertine

The base stones are cut from natural travertine. Their banding, color and open pores differ on every lamp, so no two bases look exactly the same.

FAQ
Which model should I choose?
Model A (Ø 9.8″ x H 11.8″) has a two-stone base and a pleated scalloped shade, and fits a small nightstand or a bookshelf. Model B (Ø 11.8″ x H 12.9″) has a three-stone base and a wider two-tier shade, and suits a larger nightstand, a dresser or an entryway console.
Is the base real travertine?
Yes. The stones are cut from natural travertine, so their banding, color and pores vary from lamp to lamp. Wipe them with a dry cloth and keep acidic cleaners off the stone.
How bright is it?
It gives a soft, low light. The fabric shade sends most of the light down onto the table and lets some glow through, which suits a bedside, a shelf or a reading corner rather than lighting a whole room.
Is a bulb included, and how do I turn it on?
Yes. It comes with one E26 or E27 bulb in warm 3000K light. E26 is the standard screw base used in the US. It plugs into a wall outlet and turns on with the inline switch on the 150cm/59″ cord.

No. 02 — The Material

A stone that took two thousand years to arrive.

Travertine forms over millennia as mineral-rich spring water layers into solid stone. No two sections look alike — each piece carries its own trace of pores, veins, and color drift. The irregularities you see aren't imperfections. They're the stone's fingerprint.

No. 03

Four reasons
travertine feels different.

A growing number of US homes are swapping cold metal and glossy finishes for materials with real presence. Here's what makes this stone hold up to that shift — and why it holds up in a room.

01 / 04

One-of-a-kind texture

Every piece carries its own pattern of pores, veins, and soft color shifts. Shaped over millennia — not printed, not stamped. The lamp on your table is, by nature, unique.

02 / 04

Warm, lived-in tones

Natural cream, sand, and honey hues that read warm in any light — from morning sun to the last lamp-lit hour of the evening. The color the stone brings to the room doesn't read dated five years later.

03 / 04

Real stone, real weight

You feel it the moment you pick one up. Solid in the hand, grounded on the table. Nothing hollow, nothing plastic trying to imitate the surface of something it isn't.

04 / 04

Built to age well

Travertine softens beautifully with time. A lamp today, a piece that looks even better in ten years. The kind of purchase that earns its price instead of dating itself.

No. 04 — On Craft

"Every lamp is cut from a single block of natural travertine, then hand-finished until the surface is smooth to the touch but still honest about what it is — real stone, not composite, not resin."

No. 05 — Placement

Where travertine lighting belongs.

Each room has a spot that changes when a piece of stone lands in it. Three placements we keep seeing work.

No. 06 — Film Reel — Stone & Light

See how the stone
warms the light.

A diffused, honey-toned glow — softened once by the shade, and again by the stone around it.

The three pieces we'd hand to a friend first — chosen for proportion, glow quality, and the kind of stone that makes a difference in the room.
