Kiely is built out of two shapes that don't quite match: a round glass shade sitting on a straight coloured cylinder, one soft and one blunt. That mismatch is the whole design — the eye keeps moving between them instead of settling. The small spheres around the base came from a set of children's building blocks we had on the desk at the time, and they stayed because they broke up the geometry just enough. No cord was a deliberate constraint: it had to be a lamp you could pick up.

At Ø4.7″ and 7.2″ tall Kiely fits almost anywhere — a bedside table, bookshelf, desk, bathroom counter, or windowsill — and because there's no cord it isn't tied to an outlet. That's the real use case: carry it to a dinner table, balcony, patio, or terrace in the evening, and bring it back in. A few work well as table lighting for a long outdoor table, or spaced along a shelf. The light is a soft warm glow rather than task light, so pair it with a reading lamp where you need to see detail. A few questions we hear most often about how the charging function works day to day.
Most cases up to 5mm thick charge without issue. Very thick cases, magnetic wallets, or cases with metal plates can weaken the connection — remove the case if charging feels slow or inconsistent.
Yes. The touch-dimmer and the charging base run on separate circuits, so adjusting brightness or switching between the three light settings never interrupts charging.
Yes. The lamp functions as a normal light at all times — the charging base only activates power delivery when it senses a compatible device placed on it.
Wireless models use a Qi charging pad built into the base — just set your phone down. USB models have physical USB-A and USB-C ports, which also charge tablets, e-readers, and earbuds cases at full speed.

This is an attractive portable light fixture. It uses batteries for power, and being an LED light, it should last a long time before needing a battery change. Im using it for lighting while working on the computer, so I dont need to turn on a bright room light. It works perfectly for this use, and it can be used anywhere since it doesnt need to be plugged in. It would also be good for emergency lighting in case of a power outage. Its well constructed and should last a long time.
