Maviora Pendant Lamp

The Maviora Pendant Lamp is a straw sun hat threaded on a string of wooden beads. The shade is a flat cream disc with a softly waved brim, the loose outline a woven hat takes after a season of being folded into a bag, and it hangs from a single thin cable with a round walnut bead sitting on top like a knot in the string. A second walnut bead hangs below the center of the disc, so from across a room the lamp reads as a hat brim with a wooden button above and below. The light does not come from a bulb but from the disc itself: an optical light-guide panel inside turns the whole underside into one even, warm surface, with the two beads left in soft silhouette.
