Die Valther Pendelleuchte basiert auf dem Lot, dem ältesten Werkzeug auf jeder Baustelle: ein Gewicht an einem Seil, das senkrecht hängt und zeigt, wo die wirkliche Vertikale ist. Drei gedrechselte Perlen fädeln sich auf dieses Seil, und ein Steincylinder hängt darunter als Gewicht. So wirkt die Leuchte wie eine schmale vertikale Linie statt als Schirm, der Platz einnimmt. Da das Licht aus der offenen Unterseite des Rohrs austritt, statt sich seitlich auszubreiten, arbeitet die Leuchte wie ein Spot auf das, was darunter liegt – darum gehört sie über eine Kücheninsel, eine Bartheke oder einen Nachttisch, wo Sie die Oberfläche beleuchten und den Rest des Raums dunkel lassen möchten. Eine einzelne Leuchte, zwei über einem Nachttisch-Paar oder drei in einer Reihe über einer Theke – das schmale Profil bleibt in Wabi-Sabi-, Japandi- und Organic-Modern-Räumen unauffällig.
