Inspiration

The Aveloria Pendant Lamp starts from the garden arbor and the old Italian tole fixtures that turned it into metal flowers. Curved gold-tone metal ribs bend down from a small crown and round out into an open globe, like the hoops of a trellis, and along each rib climb white ceramic blossoms and gold metal leaves. Every five-petal flower has a small brass bead at its center, and the leaves are pressed with fine veins, set in pairs as if they grew off the same stem. There is no shade: the bulb hangs in the middle of the cage under a brass socket cover, and the whole piece drops from a short brass chain on a black cord. Lit, the ceramic petals turn warm cream and the leaves throw small shadows across the ceiling and walls.

FAQ

Is the bulb visible?
Yes. The cage is open with no shade, so the bulb shows through the flowers. Light goes out in every direction and the leaves cast small shadows on the ceiling and walls.
Which bulb should I use?
A warm-light bulb is included. Since it is on show, use a frosted E26 or E27 LED A19 or G25 globe, 2700–3000K, to soften glare.
How high should it hang?
Over a table, set the bottom of the cage about 75–85cm/30–34″ above the surface. In a walkway or entry, keep at least 2.1m/7 ft from the floor. The 150cm/59″ cord is shortened at the canopy during install.
Are the flowers fragile?
The blossoms are ceramic, so handle the cage by the frame, not the flowers, when unpacking and installing. Dust with a soft dry brush.
