Inspiration

The Grove Alabaster Wall Sconce is a low-profile wall light — a round natural alabaster disc carved with concentric ripple rings, with a frosted glass globe set off-center. The G9 bulb behind the glass throws a soft warm glow while the rippled alabaster catches light and shadow across its rings. One size, ∅ 11″ × just 1.5″ deep. For a bedside, hallway, powder room, vanity mirror, or entryway, it suits quiet-luxury, organic modern, wabi-sabi, Japandi, and Mediterranean rooms.

Good To Know
!
1 × G9 (max 10W) · G9 LED bulb included & replaceable · alabaster disc · frosted glass globe · hardwired wall sconce · ~1.5″ low profile · powder room OK (no shower) · indoor dry only The disc is real natural alabaster, carved with concentric ripple rings — veining and tone vary piece to piece; alabaster is porous and not damp-rated, so keep it to dry rooms and never clean it with water. The globe is frosted glass. Socket is G9 (a line-voltage bi-pin base); a G9 LED bulb is included and replaceable, max 10W, warm 2700–3000K, and widely available in the US. Hardwired to a standard wall junction box and it sits only about 1.5″ off the wall; licensed electrician recommended. Indoor dry locations only — powder rooms (no shower) and dry-zone vanity mirrors are OK; full bathrooms with shower steam and outdoor are not. Dust the alabaster with a dry cloth; wipe the glass with a dry soft cloth.

Use Case

The Grove reads as a ripple of stone with a glowing pearl — the frosted globe gives a soft point of light while the concentric rings of the alabaster disc catch light and shadow around it. At just 1.5″ deep, it sits close to the wall, so it works in tight spots and passageways.

Use it flanking a bed or mirror in pairs, single in a hallway, powder room, or entryway, or as an accent-wall light. At a vanity, mount the center about 60–66″ above the floor; elsewhere, align with nearby art or mirror heights. It's accent / ambient light, not a bright task fixture. The rippled alabaster and frosted glass suit quiet-luxury, organic modern, wabi-sabi, Japandi, and Mediterranean rooms. Email info@docos.us for hand-matched pairs or trade pricing.

FAQ
What bulb does it use — is it included?
It uses 1 × G9, a line-voltage bi-pin base, max 10W, and a G9 LED bulb is included and fully replaceable, in a warm 2700–3000K. G9 LED bulbs are widely available in the US online and in stores, so replacements are easy. Stay at or below 10W.
What is the light like?
It's soft accent / ambient light — the frosted glass globe diffuses the G9 bulb into an even glow, while the concentric rings of the alabaster disc catch light and shadow around it. It's a decorative accent sconce rather than a bright task or reading light.
Can I use it in a bathroom, and how do I clean the alabaster?
Powder rooms (no shower) and dry-zone vanity mirrors are fine; full bathrooms with shower steam are not, and neither is outdoor — alabaster is porous and not damp-rated, so humidity can stain or degrade the stone. Cleaning: dust the alabaster with a dry soft cloth only — no water, vinegar, alcohol, or cleaners. Wipe the glass globe with a dry or barely-damp cloth.
How is it installed, and how far does it stick out?
It's a hardwired wall sconce that mounts to a standard wall junction box and sits only about 1.5″ off the wall — low-profile for tight spots and passageways. Licensed electrician recommended. At a vanity, mount the center about 60–66″ above the floor. Indoor dry locations only.
Will my alabaster look exactly like the photo?
Not exactly — each disc is carved from natural alabaster, so the veining pattern and color tone (including any honey-colored veins) vary piece to piece. The listing photo is representative; this variation is the character of natural stone, not a defect. For close-matched pairs, email info@docos.us.
Alabaster — Natural Stone Lighting

The light lives
in the stone.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
