What are the exact dimensions of each shade style?

The tapered shade is 13.5cm diameter × 35cm tall (5.3″ × 13.8″) and extends 25cm (9.8″) from the wall. The bell shade is 15cm diameter × 35cm tall (5.9″ × 13.8″) and extends 20cm (7.9″) from the wall.

What bulb does this sconce use and is it included?

It uses one E26 or E27 bulb with warm 3000K light, and a bulb is included. For replacements, use an LED bulb small enough to fit inside the 13.5–15cm shade.

How is this sconce installed?

It is hardwired to a wall junction box. The shade faces upward to send light up the wall and toward the ceiling.

What materials are used in this sconce?

Solid walnut-tone wood, yellow travertine (for the disc and round wall plate), natural shell mosaic tiles, and gold-tone metal cup. Natural stone and shell vary in tone and pattern on every piece.

Which shade style should I choose?

The tapered shade is a clean, narrow shape for hallways or living rooms. The bell shade flares open and is softer beside a bed. White shell glows evenly; Natural Mixed blends pink, cream and honey tiles for more contrast.

What height should I mount this sconce?

Beside a bed, place the center about 150–165cm (59–65″) from the floor. In a hallway or stairwell, mount it higher, about 165–180cm (65–71″), so the open top stays above eye level.

Orrenby Wall Sconce

Q: How do I care for the travertine and wood?

Dust with a soft dry cloth. Keep water and cleaners off the travertine and wood to preserve them.

Inspiration

The Orrenby Wall Sconce started from the wall torches of old Mediterranean villas, where a carved wooden handle held a flame above the stone. We turned that handle in solid wood, set a smooth travertine disc between it and the shade like a stone resting on a post, and mounted it all on a round travertine plate. The shade is a mosaic of small square shell tiles, the way shell and stone were once inlaid on boxes and mirror frames. Lit, each tile glows a slightly different tone, and light rises up the wall from the open top.

Key Features

Shell Mosaic Shade

Small square tiles of natural shell, in a tapered or bell shape, in White or Natural Mixed.

Solid Wood & Travertine

Turned solid wood arm with a travertine disc and round travertine wall plate; the stone keeps its natural pits.

Uplight Through Shell

FAQ

Which shade should I choose?

The tapered shade is narrower and sits 25cm/9.8″ off the wall, a clean shape for a hallway or living room. The bell shade flares open at the top and sits 20cm/7.9″ off the wall, a softer look beside a bed. The White shell glows evenly; the Natural Mixed shell mixes pink, cream and honey tiles for more contrast.

How high should I mount it?

Beside a bed, place the center of the sconce about 150–165cm/59–65″ from the floor. In a hallway or stairwell, mount it a little higher, about 165–180cm/65–71″, so the open top stays above eye level.

What kind of light does it give?

Warm ambient light. The open top throws light up the wall and toward the ceiling, while the shell mosaic glows around the bulb. It suits bedside and accent lighting rather than task light.

Which bulb should I use?

A warm-light bulb is included. For replacements use a compact E26 or E27 LED bulb, 3000K, small enough to sit inside the 13.5–15cm/5.3–5.9″ shade.
