Merovin taklampa inspireras av hur en solförmörkelse ser ut i mitten av förlopp — en skiva glider över en annan i stället för att sitta snyggt inom den. En travertinkrescent och en träkrescent överlappar bakom ljuspanelen, var och en stannar före kanten så båda kanterna syns från nedanför. Ingenting är centrerat, vilket gör att en rund armatur på ett plant tak inte läses som en enkel trimmring.
