§ 02 · Shipping Methods

Two paths. Chosen to match your order.

Every Docos fixture ships via one of two carefully engineered routes. For most US customers, your order travels by Standard Shipping — our flagship route that balances cost, care, and reliability.

AStandard fixtures — FedEx or UPS

Ceiling lamps, wall sconces, and table lamps within normal courier dimensions are delivered via FedEx or UPS Ground from our California warehouse. You'll receive a tracking number by email.

Address Requirement

FedEx and UPS are commercial couriers — they cannot deliver to a PO Box. Please provide a physical residential or business address at checkout. Orders sent to PO Boxes are returned to our warehouse, causing delays and re-shipping fees.

BOversized fixtures — Truck Freight (LTL)

For large chandeliers, long linear fixtures, and any piece exceeding standard courier dimensions, we use less-than-truckload (LTL) freight. Our California team schedules a local trucking company to deliver directly to you.

Unloading Requirements

Freight trucks are large. Before your order ships, please confirm:

  • Truck access — your street can accommodate a commercial truck.
  • Unloading capacity — someone is available to receive freight at curbside.
  • Advance notice — the trucking company will contact you to schedule a delivery window. A missed appointment may incur redelivery charges.

If you have any concerns about access, please tell us before your order ships — we will find an alternative solution.

§ 04 · Express Shipping, in Detail

Direct from Asia, when time matters.

If you've selected Express Shipping at checkout, your fixture skips the ocean. It leaves our Asia facility within 1–3 business days and arrives at your door via FedEx, UPS, or DHL in 5–10 business days total.

US Import Duty Update (2025)

The United States has eliminated the $800 de minimis exemption that previously allowed shipments under $800 to enter duty-free.

  • Every express shipment to the United States may now incur import duty charges.
  • Duties are paid by the recipient upon delivery — we cannot pre-pay on your behalf.
  • Your courier will contact you with the exact duty amount before releasing your shipment.
  • This applies regardless of order value or courier used.

We recommend budgeting approximately 10–25% of your order value for potential duty. Standard Shipping customers will never receive a separate customs bill — duties are fully included.

§ 06 · Can't Find Your Tracking?

Most likely: it's still at sea.

If your tracking number returns "No information available" or "Not found," please don't worry. In nearly every case, this simply means your order is still aboard the container ship crossing the Pacific.

Ocean freight typically does not generate tracking events during the 20–35 day voyage. Tracking becomes active once the container reaches a US port, clears customs, and is handed off to FedEx, UPS, or freight truck.

What to do

If it's been more than 40 days since your shipment confirmation and tracking is still empty, contact us. Using your order number, our team can:

  • Query the GPS coordinates of the vessel carrying your container in real time.
  • Provide an estimated arrival date at the US port.
  • Share updates on customs clearance progress.

§ 07 · Our Crating Promise

Oversized fixtures get their own wooden crates.

For chandeliers, long linear pendants, and any fixture exceeding standard packaging dimensions, we manufacture custom wooden crates sized specifically to the piece. Not stock boxes — each crate is built around your fixture.

Each crate is engineered to:

  • Absorb container handling impact during loading, ocean transit, and unloading.
  • Control internal humidity to protect metal finishes and delicate components during ocean travel.
  • Accept forklift handling at every touchpoint — ports, customs, warehouses, and final delivery.
  • Protect finishes and surfaces with internal padding sized to each fixture.
§ 08 · If Something Arrives Damaged

First — don't panic. Every case has a solution.

Shipping damage is rare but not unheard of. If your fixture arrives damaged, missing parts, or with a visible defect, please follow these steps — it will dramatically speed up your resolution.

AWhat to do — within 72 hours of delivery

  1. Photograph the outer packaging before unpacking — especially any visible damage, crushing, or piercing.
  2. Unpack carefully and photograph the fixture from multiple angles, with close-ups of any damage or defect.
  3. Note any missing or broken components using the packing list included in your shipment.
  4. Email our support team at info@docos.us with your order number, photos, and a brief description.

BWhat we'll do — within 24 hours

A dedicated specialist will review your case and reply with one of three outcomes:

  • A full replacement fixture shipped at our cost.
  • Replacement parts if only a single component is affected — often faster than a full replacement.
  • A full refund if a replacement is not feasible or if you prefer.

We handle every case ourselves — no outside warranty office, no support queues, no return shipping cost for our error.

§ 09 · For Designers & Bulk Customers

A word to designers, hoteliers, and developers.

If you're planning to order fixtures in volume — for a hospitality build-out, a multi-unit residential project, or a design showroom — we have a sincere piece of advice:

Start with one sample. Always. Even if you love what you see on our website, even if you've ordered from us before, even if the project timeline is tight.

  • International freight in both directions is expensive. If a bulk order of 30 fixtures isn't quite right for your project, returning them costs significantly more than shipping them to you.
  • Specifications on paper don't fully communicate a fixture. A single sample in your actual space tells you everything a 3D render cannot.
  • Our goal is a long partnership. A 100-fixture order that delights you is worth far more to us than one that ends in a return.
How the sample workflow works

Purchase one unit of the fixture you're considering. If you decide to proceed with a bulk order within 30 days, we will credit the full sample price against your bulk order. Contact us before placing the bulk order so we can arrange the credit.

A 6-meter cascade for a boutique hotel lobby.

The client wanted a single sculptural piece to anchor a double-height lobby in a renovated 19th-century building. Six rounds of 3D renders, two finish samples couriered to the architect, and a final fixture composed of 84 hand-blown glass elements at staggered heights.

Engineered with a hidden steel frame supporting the visible cascade — invisible from below, structurally sound for the next century.

A linear suspension for a 4m dining table.

Standard linear pendants top out at 1.8 meters. The client's reclaimed-oak dining table was four meters long. Our makers extended the fixture's internal frame, added two additional lamp modules, and matched the brass finish to a sample of the client's existing cabinet pulls.

Delivered in five weeks, including a trial assembly photographed and approved by the homeowner before shipping.

Aged-brass dish pendants for a twelve-meter bistro bar.

A chef-owner opening a wine-forward neighborhood bistro wanted the bar lit like a 1920s Parisian zinc — low, warm, and a little theatrical. Stock dish pendants felt too polished. Our makers hand-spun shallow brass shades, aged the finish to a soft patinated gold, and paired each with an exposed squirrel-cage Edison filament tuned to 2200K.

Nine pendants hung in a straight rhythm down the twelve-meter run, dropped low enough to graze eye level when standing — close to the marble, close to the conversation, exactly the mood the chef sketched on a napkin.
