La maggior parte dei ceramisti leviga via queste spire; lasciarle visibili è quello che conferisce a questo paralume i suoi tre anelli rigonfi e la sua leggera inclinazione dal centro. Un'asticella in legno tornito si trova in alto dove il cavo incontra la pietra, chiudendo il tracciato anziché nascondere il giunto. La forma si legge come wabi-sabi, Japandi, o modernismo organico sopra un'isola cucina, un comodino o un tavolo da pranzo.
