Inspiration

The Valessia Vase starts from a single stargazer lily seen up close, the way it looks in an old French botanical print. Large magenta blooms open across a white high-fired ceramic body, their petals curling back to show deep speckles and pale edges, with long green stamens tipped in golden-brown pollen. The flowers are hand-painted at full scale, so a single bloom wraps around the shoulder and runs off the edge rather than sitting as a small repeat. A warm gold-tone band rings the foot, and on the wide-mouth vase it also traces the rim. It comes in two shapes: a rounded lidded ginger jar, and a taller, wide-mouth vase that narrows toward the foot.
