Selvaris Pendant Lamp

The Selvaris Pendant Lamp began with a spinning top and a scallop shell. The shade is a wide, shallow skirt of clear resin molded into rounded lobes like a shell's edge, with a spray of gold flakes and tiny bubbles caught inside the material so it sparkles the way old mica-flecked glass does. Above it, a turned piece of walnut tapers to a point, the profile of a wooden top or a dreidel, and a brass collar joins the two. Hung singly the shade reads as one shell; hung in threes from a round or long canopy, the walnut tops line up at different heights like a small mobile.
