Inspiration

The Sylvune Pendant Light pairs a wavy, textured brass leaf shade with a natural alabaster globe set just below it, so light glows through the stone and reflects off the brass. A single G9 bulb sits inside the alabaster sphere. Choose from three sizes, 19.7″ to 31.5″ wide, on an adjustable cord. Sized for a dining room, kitchen island, entryway, living room, foyer, or bedroom, it gives soft ambient light in an organic-modern, mid-century, and coastal look.

Good To Know

!
Three sizes (Ø19.7 / 23.6 / 31.5″) · brass wavy leaf shade + natural alabaster globe · 1 × G9 (line-voltage bi-pin, US-available) · G9 LED bulb included & replaceable, warm 2700–3000K · adjustable cord · hardwired · indoor dry only The upper shade is a textured, hammered antique-brass wavy leaf; the lower globe is natural alabaster (“yunshi” stone) that houses the bulb — light glows warm through the translucent, veined stone and reflects off the brass. Because alabaster is a natural, porous, delicate stone, the veining and tone vary piece to piece; keep it indoor and dry, dust dry, and never use water. The brass develops a natural patina over time; wipe with a dry cloth and skip harsh polish. Socket is G9 (line-voltage bi-pin, widely available in the US); a G9 LED bulb is included and replaceable, warm 2700–3000K — use a G9 bulb rated for your region's voltage. A single G9 gives soft ambient / accent light, not bright task light. Three sizes; hangs from an adjustable cord (drop — see spec sheet) with a brass canopy. Hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box; certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V); licensed electrician recommended. Indoor dry locations only.

Use Case

The Sylvune reads as a sculptural, organic-modern piece — the wavy brass leaf catches and reflects warm light, while the alabaster globe glows softly through its veined stone. It's soft ambient / accent light, not a bright task fixture, and works lit or unlit as a focal point.

Scale by room: the small (Ø19.7″) suits an entryway, bedroom, or nook; the medium (Ø23.6″) a dining table, kitchen island, or living room; the large (Ø31.5″) a foyer, large island, or long table. Hang the bottom 30–36″ above a table or island; set the height with the adjustable cord. Brass and alabaster pair with wood, stone, linen, and warm, neutral palettes — mid-century, organic-modern, coastal, and Japandi rooms. Email info@docos.us for trade pricing or help choosing a size.

FAQ

What sizes does it come in, and which should I pick?
Three sizes: small Ø19.7″ (entryway, bedroom, nook), medium Ø23.6″ (dining table, kitchen island, living room), and large Ø31.5″ (foyer, large island, long table). Over a table or island, hang the bottom about 30–36″ above the surface.
What bulb does it use — is it included?
It uses 1 × G9, a line-voltage bi-pin base that's widely available in the US. A G9 LED bulb is included and replaceable, in a warm 2700–3000K. Because G9 is line-voltage, use a G9 bulb rated for your local voltage.
What's the globe made of, and can I use it in a bathroom?
The globe is natural alabaster — a real, porous stone, so the veining and tone vary piece to piece. It's indoor dry locations only; alabaster isn't damp-rated, so avoid bathrooms with shower steam and outdoor spots. Dust it with a dry soft cloth and never use water.
How bright is it, and what's the light like?
It's a single G9 bulb inside the alabaster globe, so it gives a soft, ambient / accent glow through the stone, plus a warm reflection off the brass leaf — not bright task light. For a dining table or island, pair it with other lighting if you need more output.
How is it installed, and does the brass change over time?
It's hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box and hangs from an adjustable cord (drop set at install — see the spec sheet); it's certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V). Licensed electrician recommended. The brass develops a natural patina over time — wipe with a dry cloth and skip harsh polish to keep the finish even.
Alabaster — Natural Stone Lighting

The light lives
in the stone.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
