Inspiration

The Anvers Picture Alabaster Wall Sconce is a horizontal alabaster bar — a honed cylinder of natural alabaster set on a round brass backplate with brass end caps. Two E14 bulbs light it from inside, so the stone glows warm. One size, 18.1″ wide × 4.7″ high. Mounted over artwork or a mirror, in a hallway, bedroom, or a dry-zone vanity / powder room, it works as a picture light and gives soft accent light. It suits transitional, modern-classic, art-deco, and organic-modern rooms.

Good To Know
!
2 × E14 (NOT US E12 — see below) · E14 LED bulbs included & replaceable · honed alabaster bar · brass backplate & end caps · wall sconce / picture light, hardwired · indoor dry only The bar is honed alabaster (natural stone) on a round brass backplate with brass end caps; because alabaster is porous and not damp-rated, keep it to dry rooms, dust it dry and never use water, and the veining, tone, and translucency vary piece to piece. Light source is 2 × E14. Important: E14 is the European small Edison screw and is not the same as the US E12 candelabra base — use E14 bulbs (or an E14-to-E12 adapter) for replacements. E14 LED bulbs are included and replaceable, warm 2700–3000K — the alabaster glows warm for soft accent / ambient light (a picture light over art or a dry-zone vanity bar), not bright task light. Mounts horizontally; 18.1″ W × 4.7″ H. Hardwired to a standard wall junction box; certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V); licensed electrician recommended. Indoor dry locations only — a powder room or dry-zone vanity is fine, not a full bath with shower steam or outdoors.

Use Case

The Anvers reads as a slim alabaster bar in brass — when lit, the stone glows warm for soft accent / ambient light, so it works as a picture light over art or a mirror, or as a dry-zone vanity bar. Each bar's veining is a little different.

Mount it horizontally above a framed piece, over a mirror, in a hallway, or beside a bed; in a bath, keep it to a powder room or dry-zone vanity (not a full bath with shower steam). Remember the bulbs are E14, not the US E12 candelabra — keep E14 LEDs on hand for replacements. The alabaster and brass suit transitional, modern-classic, art-deco, and organic-modern rooms. FAQ
What bulbs does it use — are they included?
It uses 2 × E14. Important: E14 is the European small Edison screw and is not the same as the US E12 candelabra base — use E14 bulbs, or an E14-to-E12 adapter, for replacements. E14 LED bulbs are included and replaceable, in a warm 2700–3000K.
How bright is it?
The alabaster glows warm when lit, giving soft accent / ambient light rather than bright task light. It works as a picture light over art or a mirror, or as a vanity bar; layer with other lighting where you need more output.
Can I use it in a bathroom, and how do I clean the alabaster?
Indoor dry locations only. A powder room or dry-zone vanity is fine, but avoid a full bath with shower steam and outdoor spots — alabaster is porous and not damp-rated. Cleaning: dust it dry with a soft cloth; never use water or cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone. Wipe the brass with a dry cloth.
How is it mounted?
It mounts horizontally as a wall sconce / picture light — over a framed piece, a mirror, or as a vanity bar — and is hardwired to a standard wall junction box via the round brass backplate. It's certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V). Licensed electrician recommended. Handle the alabaster gently during mounting.
Where does it work best?
Over artwork or a mirror, in a hallway, bedroom, living room, or a dry-zone vanity / powder room. As a single 18.1″ bar, it's an accent and picture light rather than a room's main source — pair it with overhead or other lighting for general illumination.
Alabaster — Natural Stone Lighting

The light lives
in the stone.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
