A hand-painted ceramic shade. A room that feels like it was chosen, not assembled.
Every Kikyo shade is painted by hand — the blue floral motifs and fine stripe patterns on each ceramic surface are the work of a maker, not a machine. The slight variation between pieces is the point: no two are identical. Brass fittings and a twisted cord carry the artisanal warmth right up to the canopy. When lit, the ceramic diffuses the bulb into a quiet, even glow — warm enough to notice, calm enough to stay with. A pendant that holds attention even when the room goes dark.
Hung low above a round table, the Kikyo becomes the room's focal point — its ceramic shade glowing softly at eye level while the painted pattern holds every guest's attention. A cluster of three at staggered heights creates a composed, gallery-like ceiling arrangement over a rectangular table.
Warm gathering lightAs a bedside pendant, the Kikyo frees the nightstand while bringing a quiet, artisanal presence to the sleeping space. The diffused ceramic glow is warm enough to read by, calm enough to ease into sleep. In the morning, natural light plays across the blue pattern differently than the bulb does at night — two moods, one object.
Soft bedside glowAbove a reading chair or nook, the Kikyo creates a defined overhead pool that makes the corner feel like a deliberate destination. The painted ceramic adds a design moment to a space that most pendants treat as an afterthought — here, the lamp is worth sitting beneath.
Warm focal lightAt Docos, every lamp begins as a lump of clay and ends as the warmest corner of a room. We don't chase trends. We shape pieces meant to live with you — through quiet evenings, long winters, and houses that grow up around them. Made by hand. Fired hard. Built to glow.
Hand-thrown stoneware bases. Linen-soft shades. Glazes mixed in small batches by master artisans — bringing the soul of a quiet ceramic studio into your home.
Every Docos base is shaped, glazed, and fired by artisans with decades of practice. We fire our stoneware to 1300°C — nearly twice the heat of standard ceramics — giving each piece the density of stone and the smoothness of jade. No two are identical. None of them are accidents.
Real ceramic has a weight that plastic and metal can't fake. Run your hand along the shade — you'll find soft ridges, hand-painted petals, and glaze that catches the light differently from every angle. It's the difference between owning a lamp and living with one.
For the housewarming, the wedding, the friend who already has everything. Each Docos lamp arrives in protective gift-ready packaging, hand-checked before it leaves the studio.
Ceramic shades diffuse light the way a candle behind paper does — soft, warm, and easy on the eyes. The kind of glow you want to read by, eat by, and wind down with.

Whether as a statement piece or a subtle accent, its adaptable design seamlessly complements various interior styles, from modern to classic.
I installed this over my dining table, and it creates such a calm atmosphere. The light isn’t harsh at all—it’s warm and steady.
Installation was fairly straightforward, though adjusting the cord length took a bit of time.
It feels like a piece you keep for years rather than something trendy you’ll replace quickly.
The craftsmanship really stands out. You can see slight variations in the brushwork, which makes it feel authentic rather than mass-produced.
The ceramic quality feels solid and well-made. It doesn’t feel fragile despite its refined look.
