Inspiration

The Retrovia Alabaster Table Lamp is a brass-and-alabaster accent lamp — a slim brass stem on a weighted disc base holding a natural alabaster bowl, with an exposed glass-globe bulb seated in the stone. About 11″ wide × 14.6″ tall. A single E27 globe bulb glows up out of the alabaster dish for a warm accent light, with a push-button switch on the body. Sized for a nightstand, console table, living room side table, or home-office desk, it suits Art Deco, mid-century, retro, Hollywood Regency, and quiet-luxury rooms.

Good To Know

!
1 × E27 (max 40W) · glass-globe LED bulb included · brass + alabaster + glass · plug-in · push-button switch · dimmable (dimmer not included) · indoor dry only The bowl is real natural alabaster — veining and tone vary piece to piece; alabaster is porous and not damp-rated, so keep it to dry rooms and never clean it with water. The stem and disc base are brass; the exposed glass globe is the bulb itself. Socket is E27 (medium screw base) and accepts standard US E26; a glass-globe LED bulb is included (about 5W, ~40W equivalent), replaceable, max 40W. Plug-in with a push-button switch and an ~59″ cord (transparent by default); it works with a wall/cord dimmer (dimmer not included). Indoor dry locations only. Dust the alabaster with a dry cloth; wipe the brass with a dry soft cloth.
Key Features

Natural Alabaster Bowl
A bowl of real alabaster that glows softly when lit — veining and tone vary per piece, so no two are alike.
Brass Stem & Disc Base
A slim brass stem on a weighted disc base holds the alabaster bowl up like a pedestal — a clean retro silhouette.
Exposed Globe + Push Switch
An exposed glass-globe bulb sits in the bowl for a visible warm light; a push-button switch turns it on, and it works with a dimmer.

!
Alabaster is porous — indoor dry only, no water The alabaster bowl is natural stone and absorbs moisture. Keep the lamp to dry rooms (bedroom, living room, office) — not for bathrooms with shower steam or outdoor — and never clean the stone with water, vinegar, alcohol, or cleaners; dust it with a dry soft cloth only. Veining and tone vary piece to piece; that's the character of the stone, not a defect.

Use Case

At about 14.6″ tall, the Retrovia is a compact accent lamp — the exposed glass globe gives a warm, visible point of light while the alabaster bowl glows softly around it, so it reads as mood and accent lighting rather than a bright task lamp. The push-button switch and dimmer compatibility let you dial the level down for evenings.

Use it on a nightstand for low bedside light, a pair on a console or entryway table, or as a single accent on a living room side table or home-office desk. The brass-and-alabaster pairing suits Art Deco, mid-century, retro, and quiet-luxury rooms, and sits well with marble, wood, and warm-metal accents. FAQ

What bulb does it use — is it included?
It uses 1 × E27 medium screw base, max 40W. E27 is cross-compatible with the standard US E26 base, so US E26 replacements thread right in. A glass-globe LED bulb is included (about 5W, roughly 40W-equivalent) and fully replaceable. Because the bulb is exposed in the bowl, a decorative clear or amber globe LED looks best; a 2700–3000K warm white suits the brass and alabaster.
Is it dimmable, and what switch does it have?
It has a push-button switch on the body and works with a dimmer (a wall or in-line cord dimmer, not included) when paired with a dimmable bulb. Dimming the exposed globe down gives a warm, low evening glow.
Where does it work, and how big is it?
It's about 11″ wide × 14.6″ tall (Dia 28 × H 37 cm) — a compact accent height for a nightstand, console, living room side table, or desk. It's accent / mood lighting rather than a bright reading lamp; pair two on a console or flanking a bed for symmetry.
Can I use it in a bathroom, and how do I clean the alabaster?
Indoor dry locations only. Alabaster is porous and not damp-rated, so keep it away from bathrooms with shower steam and outdoor spots — humidity can stain or degrade the stone. Cleaning: dust the alabaster with a dry soft cloth only — no water, vinegar, alcohol, or cleaners. Wipe the brass with a dry soft cloth and skip abrasive polish.
Is it plug-in or hardwired?
It's a plug-in table lamp with a push-button switch and an ~59″ cord (transparent by default), so there's no wiring or electrician needed — just add the included E27 / E26 globe bulb and plug it into a standard wall outlet. Indoor dry locations only.
Alabaster — Natural Stone Lighting

The light lives
in the stone.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
