Inspiration

The Elio Alabaster Wall Sconce holds a white alabaster globe on a curved aged-brass arm and round backplate, with the globe facing down. A single G9 bulb (LED included) glows warm through the translucent alabaster for soft, ambient light — a bedside, hallway, or vanity sconce, not a bright task light. At 9.1″ tall and extending 6.3″ from the wall, it hardwires to a standard wall box. The brass and alabaster read mid-century, modern, and classic. Each stone globe is natural, so the veining and tone vary per piece.

Hardwired to a standard wall junction box; certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V); licensed electrician recommended. Indoor dry only — a dry-area vanity or powder room is fine, not a full bathroom with shower steam or outdoor.

Use Case

The Elio reads as a warm, mid-century wall sconce — a white alabaster globe on a curved aged-brass arm and round backplate, facing down. A single G9 glows warm through the translucent stone, so it gives soft, ambient / accent light, and each stone globe is one of a kind.

Mount it beside a bed (often in pairs), in a hallway, or flanking a dry-area vanity mirror. It hardwires to a standard wall box. The brass and alabaster pair with warm metals, stone, and neutral rooms — mid-century, modern, and classic. A dry-area vanity or powder room is fine; for a full bathroom with shower steam, choose a damp-rated fixture instead. Indoor dry only. Email info@docos.us for trade pricing or product questions.

FAQ
How big is it, and how far does it stick out?
It stands 9.1″ tall (23 cm) and extends 6.3″ (16 cm) from the wall — compact enough for a bedside, hallway, or beside a vanity mirror.
What bulb does it use — is it included?
It uses 1 × G9, which is line-voltage (120V), so no transformer is needed — a standard G9 LED threads right in. A G9 LED bulb is included and fully replaceable, in warm white.
What’s the light like — is it bright?
A single G9 glows through the translucent alabaster, giving a soft, warm ambient / accent light rather than bright task light. Pair it with other lighting where you need brighter, directed light.
Will mine look exactly like the photo?
Alabaster is natural stone, so the veining and tone vary piece to piece — yours will be slightly different from the photo. That variation is the nature of natural stone, not a defect.
How is it installed, and can it go in a bathroom?
It’s hardwired to a standard wall junction box — a licensed electrician is recommended. It’s certified for North America, Australia, Europe & the Middle East (110–240V). Indoor dry only — a dry-area vanity or powder room is fine, but the natural alabaster isn’t damp-rated, so not a full bathroom with shower steam or outdoors.
Alabaster — Natural Stone Lighting

The light lives
in the stone.

The Craft

From a block of stone
to light in your room.

Alabaster can't be moulded or mass-pressed — it is cut. Every shade starts as solid stone and is worked by hand until it's thin enough to glow evenly. That's why no two are the same.

01

Quarried

Blocks of natural alabaster are extracted and graded for translucency and the quality of their veining before any cutting begins.

02

Cut & shaped

Each block is sliced and turned or carved to form, then hollowed so a bulb can sit behind the stone wall.

03

Hand-finished

The walls are sanded to an even thickness so light passes through without dark patches, then polished by hand.

04

Wired & assembled

Fitted with brass hardware and wired to a 120V, ETL-compliant build, then inspected before it ships.

Why Alabaster

What makes it read as something rarer.

Translucent, not opaque

Light passes through the stone itself — the lit-from-inside quality you can't get from glass or acrylic.

Veining unique to your piece

Cut from a solid block, so the cloud-like veining is its own. No two alabaster fixtures are identical.

Warm and glare-free

The stone scatters light rather than aiming it. Pair with a 2700K bulb; most fixtures dim on a compatible LED dimmer.

Made for layered rooms

A soft accent beside stronger overhead light — at home with wood, linen, and brass in modern interiors.

Lit From Within

It doesn't light the room.
It becomes the light.

Switched off, an alabaster fixture is a quiet stone object. Switched on, the whole piece glows — sculpture you happen to be able to turn on.

The Collection

A gallery of carved light.

Chandeliers, pendants, sconces, table and floor lamps — all cut from natural alabaster, most paired with brass. Dozens of pieces in all.

Find My Size

Which alabaster light
for which room.

Dining & Island

Hang a linear pendant or chandelier roughly 30–36″ above the surface. For a 6–8′ island, size the fixture or cluster to about two-thirds the counter length.

Foyer & Stairwell

Two-story spaces suit a tiered chandelier — Corbett or Miira. Keep the lowest point at least 7′ off the floor in a walkway.

Bedside & Hallway

A wall sconce — Ando, Marmo, Velora — frees the nightstand and adds the soft accent layer. Plug-in versions skip the hardwiring.

Living Room & Den

A table lamp — Marie, Pico — anchors a reading corner with warm light beside your overheads.

Questions

Alabaster lighting, answered.

Is alabaster lighting durable, or does the stone chip easily?

Alabaster is a solid, fine-grained stone with real weight — not fragile in normal use. It is softer than marble, so avoid knocks and harsh chemical cleaners. A soft, dry cloth keeps it looking right for years.

Will my alabaster fixture look exactly like the photo?

No — and that's by design. Each shade is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tone are unique to your piece. The product photo shows a representative example; yours will have its own distinct veining.

What bulb and colour temperature work best with alabaster?

Use a 2700K warm-white LED to bring out the honeyed, candle-like tone in the stone. Cooler bulbs make alabaster look gray. Most fixtures take an E26 or G9 base — check the product page — and dim with a compatible LED dimmer.

Which alabaster fixture should I choose for my room size?

Chandeliers (Corbett, Kurve, Miira) suit dining rooms and two-story foyers; pendants suit kitchen islands; sconces suit bedsides and hallways. Send us your dimensions for a free 3D preview to scale before you order.
